Welcome to the Darkside...

...join me, Akasha Savage, as I brave the deepest dungeons and scale the misty mountains to achieve my dream: to see my novel Bathory in print. I will take you by the hand and keep you beside me as I cross this uncharted territory...

...let us step into the moonlit darkness together...

Welcome to my new home, come in and take a seat...

Some of you are probably wondering why I've moved. The answer is simple. This year, 2010, I have decided to take myself seriously - correction - I have decided to take my writing seriously. I have been labouring under the misconception that if I sit down occasionally at my laptop a masterpiece will unfold beneath my dancing fingertips.
Mmmmmmmm.
That's not happening....
It seems that I have actually got to spend decent lumps of time - uninterrupted time - at the keyboard and slog away whether I'm in the mood or not.
So, I thought if I had a blog dedicated to me getting my novel finished and getting it accepted by an agent/publisher, and if I vow to keep you all updated on my book's progress at least twice a week - if not more - then it might make me pull my grubby little socks up and get on with it.
...we'll see...
Also I wanted to change the name of my blog. I wanted people who know me to be able to find my blog that teeny bit easier. It's all to do with social networking (at least that's what I'm told!).
So here's to a New Year and a Fresh Start.

This time next year I will have a publishing deal...........................

Wordcount for today~2327 :D

  1. Hi Akasha, you and me both, my dear friend. I'm still working on my plot break down at the moment. All my new characters are draw out and some even have family trees.

Happy New Year & Good luck in 2010!

  2. Brilliant idea Akasha - dont' know whether you follow Nicola Morgan's blog over at HelpINeedaPublisher but she's just put up a post which recommends doing just what you've done if you're serious about being published!

I look forward to seeing the finished MS of Bathory in June!

Happy New Year to you and the family!

  5. Akasha, you've so done the right thing. Writing is no easy task, and it's great you've taken the bull by the horns (don't know if you're familiar with this expression? very popular in the US). At any rate, I wish you the best with this new endeavor, and I'm here with you. All the way! And Happy New Year to you!!! Here's a toast from me to you. Clink!!! ;-)
